Meet Dr. Monty C. Wilson, DDS, FACS
Dr. Monty C. Wilson completed his undergraduate studies at Cameron University in 1989 and attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, obtaining his dental degree in 1993.
He then completed a surgical internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami in 1994, followed by the completion of a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at King / Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles which culminated in a certificate for his specialty in 1998.
He was active in both basic and clinical science research throughout his training. In 2001, he became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wilson was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve from 1997 to 2005.
Currently, Dr. Wilson is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons where he served as President. He enjoys his current academic teaching position, as a lecturer, at UCLA School of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wilson is a faculty member at the Zimmer Dental Implant Corporation and AO Craniofacial Surgery, participating as a lecturer and instructor in their continuing dental and medical education courses.
He is active in his affiliated hospitals, St Joseph and Children’s Hospital of Orange (CHOC), as Chief of the section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Joseph’s, member of the Operating Room committee, and member of CHOC’s craniofacial clinic.
Dr. Wilson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
